The Story Behind Left-Handed
I started embroidering in 2020 as a creative outlet for personal projects. What began as a small passion quickly grew into something much more: a way to create meaningful gifts, preserve memories, and celebrate milestones for people from all walks of life.
Over time, this journey has brought me to events, collaborations, and countless stories stitched in thread. Each project has reminded me how special it is to create something that will be kept, gifted, and cherished.
The Name “Left-Handed”
The name Left-Handed is not about which hand I use, but about embracing imperfection. Embroidery has a beautiful way of being slightly uneven and unpredictable, just like life. It is never truly perfect, and that is what makes it special.
The name reflects that spirit, the charm of something that looks like it has been done with the left hand, full of heart and character.
All of the branding for Left-Handed was created by Montreal artist Jennifer Lynch, who, in the spirit of the name, chose to use her left hand for every part of this project, even though she is right-handed. It is a creative collaboration that perfectly captures the soul of the brand: imperfect, intentional, and deeply personal.
The Process
Each embroidered piece begins with a story, whether it is a name, a phrase, a memory, or even a beloved pet. Once the design is finalized, I carefully digitize it or refine it with the help of my software to make sure every stitch falls exactly where it should.
Using high-quality threads and materials, the embroidery is brought to life on my machine one stitch at a time. Every piece is made with care, intention, and a love for detail.
Whether it is a gift for new parents, a keepsake in memory of someone loved, or a custom creation to mark a special occasion, each piece is created to last and to hold meaning.
